Matthew Davies is a registered social worker and the founder of The Social Work Way; a digital platform built to support and empower frontline practitioners. With 19 years’ experience in children’s services, Matthew has worked in roles spanning early help, safeguarding, and team management. His career has been defined by a commitment to practical innovation, co-production, and putting people before paperwork.

Seeing first-hand how administrative burdens hold back social workers, Matthew set out to create a solution from within the profession itself. The Social Work Way is the result a UK-first mobile and web app co-designed with practitioners, care-experienced young people, and families. Under Matthew’s leadership, the platform has achieved national recognition, secured local authority contracts, and delivered real-world impact for users.

Matthew is also a winner of the Rising Star Wales Tech Award 2024 and a finalist at the European Digital Social Services Awards. He is passionate about social work, technology for good, and using lived experience to drive lasting change in the sector.
