Owen Guy - Director of the Centre for Nanohealth, Swansea University
Prof. Owen Guy FRSC is a research Professor at Swansea University. He was Head of Chemistry from January 2018 – August 2025 and is currently Director of the Centre for Nanohealth, as well as one of the co-leads of the Centre of Integrative Materials (CISM) – Swansea University’s semiconductor Fab. Owen has over 20 years’ experience in semiconductor device research (silicon, silicon carbide, graphene & MEMS technology) and is developing collaborative research and education programmes with the Compund Semiconductor Cluster in the UK. Owen has close working relationships with all of the cluster companies and has several current projects with KLA and Vishay. Owen is a member of the Compound Semiconductor Education Group (CSEG) and also sits on the board of the European Chips Skills Alliance. Owen is leading new outreach initiatives to develop the talent pipeline for the semiconductor industry in the UK and Europe and is developing innovative training aids using VR, mixed reality and AI.
