Dr Afroditi Konidari is the CEO and co-founder of Tendertec.

An architect engineer and researcher in smart buildings, Afroditi had spent years exploring how technology could make spaces energy efficient and responsive. But when the technology that should have protected her grandmother failed, she saw what the care industry was missing: systems that understand people, not just monitor them. Because when hidden incidents go unnoticed, the burden doesn’t disappear – it shifts. It falls on family carers, most often women, who step in only after decline or injury has already taken hold.

Together with co-founder Rui Zhang, she founded Tendertec – a deep-tech company turning that insight into reality. Tendertec’s technology uses privacy-first thermal intelligence to recognise early risks like near-falls or behaviour changes before they become emergencies, giving families and professionals the time to act.

Tendertec is building the infrastructure that makes care earlier, safer, and human at scale – across families, providers, and systems.
