Michael Groves - Head of Digital Economy, Welsh Government
Michael is Head of Digital Economy for Welsh Government. Having started his career in London delivering international projects for the International Air Transport Association (IATA), Michael then worked for a specialist UK company brokering emerging technologies with city investment houses and international banking institutions.
Since returning to Wales in 2002, Michael has accumulated more than 20 years’ experience successfully designing, securing funding, and operationally deploying national digitally focussed economic development programmes for Wales.
Michael operationally leads Welsh Government’s AI & Economy work, is SRO for Cyber sector development and represents Welsh Government as a member of several advisory boards and bodies including NCSC, techUK, Wales Cyber Resilience Centre and Wales Cyber Innovation Hub.
