High Value Manufacturing Catapult joins Wales Tech Week 2025

The High Value Manufacturing (HVM) Catapult will bring its world-leading capabilities in digital technologies and sustainable manufacturing solutions to Wales’ largest international tech summit.

By partnering with Wales Tech Week 2025, taking place 24–26 November at the ICC Wales, HVM Catapult will join a line-up of global partners – including Intellistack, Vishay, BT, and Thales – as well as industry leaders, investors, policymakers, and entrepreneurs, to showcase the talent, ingenuity, and ambition of Wales’ tech ecosystem on the world stage.

Industry and manufacturing have always been at the heart of Wales’ identity. The Catapult is a network of innovation centres across the UK and its newest site, HVM Catapult Baglan, is providing South Wales manufacturers with the tools, expertise and space to supercharge their productivity  – from advanced robotics and additive manufacturing to virtual and augmented reality.

With a focus on digital transformation, decarbonisation and skills development, the Baglan site is expected to generate up to £18 million in additional GVA annually within five years, helping Welsh businesses increase efficiency and strengthen their competitiveness on the world stage.

Avril Lewis, MBE, Managing Director of Technology Connected, said:

“We’re delighted to welcome HVM Catapult as a Silver Partner. Manufacturing is a vital part of the Welsh economy, contributing 16% of Wales’ total output – well above the UK average of 9% – and supporting over 130,000 jobs. To remain competitive in global markets, Welsh manufacturers must address challenges in productivity, performance, and skills development. Wales Tech Week offers a unique opportunity for manufacturers to explore how digital innovation – from AI-driven automation to immersive technologies – can enhance processes, drive efficiency, and support workforce upskilling.

“With partners like HVM Catapult, we’re equipping manufacturing businesses with the resources, insights, and connections they need to innovate, grow and compete on the global stage.”

Jacqui Murray, HVM Catapult Director for South Wales, said:

“We are delighted to be part of Wales Tech Week, showcasing how HVM Catapult is supporting advanced manufacturing across the UK and here in Wales. With the success of AMRC Cymru in Broughton and the recent launch of our new facility in Baglan, we are already helping Welsh businesses adopt cutting-edge technologies that will keep them productive and competitive.

“This event is a great opportunity to engage with even more companies and highlight how our UK-wide network can support their growth and share how we are helping develop the future workforce the sector needs.”

Wales Tech Week 2025 will unite decision-makers from across technology, manufacturing, energy, finance, professional services, and more – creating a dynamic platform for connection, collaboration, and investment.

Attendees can expect world-class speakers, thought-provoking panel sessions, immersive exhibitions, fringe events, and a wide range of networking opportunities – all designed to shine a global spotlight on Welsh talent and innovation. Wales Tech Week 2025 is free to attend and open to anyone passionate about the power of technology.
