Alex Coldea - Founder , Dill
Alex Coldea is the founder and CEO of Dill, an AI-powered labeling infrastructure platform operating across the UK and U.S., and used by businesses in food, retail, and industrial sectors. Originally from Romania, Alex studied Computer Science at Swansea University, where he launched his first digital venture before building Dill into a nationally recognised technology company. Dill was created to solve a problem few saw as broken: labeling. From stock rotation and grab-and-go food compliance, to ingredient and allergen labeling under Natasha’s Law, Alex led the development of a platform that removes manual effort, ensures compliance, and helps businesses scale with ease. Today, Dill powers labeling across hundreds of sites — from QSR chains like Busaba and Atis, to brands like BrewDog, government bodies like Swansea Council, stadiums like Saracens’ StoneX Stadium, and national forecourts including Shell, BP, Jet and Esso. The platform has now printed over 50 million labels and expanded internationally with the launch of Dill Inc. in the United States. Under Alex’s leadership, Dill has won AI StartUp of the Year, Wales StartUp of the Year, and was shortlisted for AI Entrepreneur of the Year at the Great British Entrepreneurship Awards. The company is now scaling across retail, manufacturing, and beyond — positioning its driverless, AI-powered technology as the next infrastructure layer for labeling across industries. Dill’s mission is simple: to make labeling an invisible task — automated, scalable, and intuitive — wherever products are made, moved, or sold.
