Danny Askew

Danny Askew is the Lead Design and Manufacturing Engineer at Rusty Design Limited, a company specialising in large-format 3D printing and composite manufacturing. With over eight years of industrial engineering experience, Danny previously worked in equipment development for major global medical manufacturers before joining Rusty Design to aid the development of their printing machinery, materials, and process innovation.

Supported by Media Cymru and Innovate UK, Danny has been applying Rusty Design’s technology to the creation of sustainable props and 3D scenic structures for film and television. By prioritising low-VOC, non-petrochemical materials and developing circular end-of-life pathways, the team aims to help the media industry transition to more environmentally responsible production methods.
