Gina Neff - Professor of Responsible AI, Queen Mary University London

Gina Neff bridges the worlds of technology, policy, and society to shape how AI serves humanity. As one of the leading voices on responsible AI, she advises governments, runs research centres at Cambridge and Queen Mary University London, and translates complex tech issues for global audiences—She led on The A to Z of AI that reached over one million people in 17 languages. Currently Professor of Responsible AI at Queen Mary and Director of Cambridge’s Minderoo Centre for Technology & Democracy, Professor Neff also serves as Deputy CEO for UKRI Responsible AI UK. Her influence extends through board roles at the Social Science Research Council, the Institute for the Future of Work, and Reset. Author of three MIT Press books and winner of both engineering and social sciences awards, she combines rigorous research with practical impact. Oxford recognized her teaching excellence, and her team won the 2021 Webby for the best educational website on the internet. With a doctorate in sociology and training in economics and Middle Eastern languages from Columbia, she brings an unusually broad lens to questions of technology and democracy.
