Lisa Rovira

In her role as a Cloud and Custom applications apprentice at Capgemini UK Plc, Lisa is keen to challenge the assumption that apprenticeships are solely for younger school leavers. As a full-time mum and leaving education later in life, at 39, Lisa had no prior technology experience but always had a keen interest in IT. Lisa recognised the earn whilst you learn benefits of an apprenticeship and the accelerated progression that comes with the experiential hands-on delivery being directly linked to the theory being taught. The financial stability also afforded Lisa the focus to balance family and working life.

This courage to try and enthusiasm for tech earned Lisa her place on the scheme, where she has been thriving for the past year. Currently working on public sector projects, Lisa is confident of a bright future in Tech and ready for the challenges of future technologies. Lisa hopes to continue to be a great role model for older women who want to pursue a life-changing career in what has traditionally been seen to be a male dominated industry.
