Dr Kirsty Perrett

Dr Kirsty Perrett (PhD) is the Lead Cyber Engineer at Thales Ebbw Vale. Kirsty’s field of expertise is ‘Cyber Resilience for Critical National Infrastructure’.

Her role at Thales is multi-disciplinary and covers a range of area’s including:

• Conducting Novel Research and Development.
• Lecturing Cyber College Cymru students, supporting the future talent pipeline.
• Utilising the Cyber Range and Physical OT Equipment to build capabilities, demonstrating how ‘Hackers’ can use this as an opportunity to gain unauthorised access to critical systems.  
• Finally serves part of her time as an OT consultant, which encompasses anything from training/educating engineers, writing governance and standards or conducting security / safety assessments on various OT plants across the globe.  

Prior to her time at Thales, Kirsty served over 12 years in Industry working primarily in the NHS, with an essential background across multiple engineering disciplines including:

Critical Data Networks and Telecommunications, Security Operations Centres, Wireless Infrastructure, Wearable Medical Technology and Operational Cyber Security.

Kirsty has also featured in various media campaigns including SCMedia, The Engineer Magazine, (IMec) Institute of Mechanical Engineers Council and took part in an Amazon Prime Documentary by Curiosity Stream.
