Emma Dunbar - Head of Engagement, Innovation & Entrepreneurship, Swansea University
With 27 years of working in national and international organisations, Emma has been responsible for creating, developing, launching and managing successful new business support programmes, strategic plans and commercial opportunities in Wales.
Having started her career in the aerospace sector and working in industry for many years for innovative and technology-based businesses, Emma then moved into the public sector working for several years at the Welsh Development Agency/Welsh Government on a number of portfolios, including supporting inward investment activities into Wales, high growth incubation networks and help drive Wales priority sector growth areas for economic prosperity. Emma has now been steering the innovation and enterprise agenda in the Higher Education Sector for the last 10 years, bridging the relationship between HEIs and business by bringing a breadth of experience and broad perspective to the knowledge exchange agenda for Wales
Working in the Department of Research, Engagement and Innovation Services (REIS) at Swansea University, Emma is currently responsible for leading the delivery of the Institution’s strategy related to external engagement, research impact, innovation & IP Commercialisation, entrepreneurial & leadership skills development, and a number of externally funded strategic engagement projects.
